Our Story

Creating art experiences that bring people together since 2011.

Where Vine Gogh Began

Vine Gogh began in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland in 2011, built on a love of art, teaching, and community. From the very beginning, our goal was simple: make art approachable, welcoming, and fun for everyone—no experience required. What started as a small local studio quickly grew into a creative gathering place where people could relax, connect, and discover their artistic side.

A New Chapter in Sherwood

Like many creative spaces, Vine Gogh closed its original studio during the COVID-19 pandemic. But Vine Gogh didn’t end—it evolved. Today, Vine Gogh calls Sherwood, Oregon home. We host public paint sessions, private parties, and special events throughout Wine Country, including our shared space at STAR Society in Old Town Sherwood and partner venues nearby. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, planning a team event, or just looking for a creative night out, we focus on creating experiences—not just classes.

Meet the Artists Behind Vine Gogh

Vine Gogh is led by artists Jenny and Paul Schildan. With decades of combined experience in fine art, teaching, and creative entrepreneurship, they bring warmth, encouragement, and expertise to every session. Their approach focuses on confidence, creativity, and enjoying the process—not perfection. Whether it’s your first time picking up a brush or your hundredth, you’ll feel supported every step of the way.

Jenny and Paul also share their creative process and teaching through the Palette Knives Out Artcast on YouTube, connecting with a wider creative community online.
